It has been a pretty hectic..and by this I mean in the most possible good way. See I know to many December babies including me ...since the weekend of sixteenth up until my born day on the 27th, we had three birthdays with Christmas sandwiched in between. Had a great time great way to close the year.
I realised I like Mai tai's....
24th at Zanzibar was pretty good till the reggae set when this numbskull of person kept talking every five seconds a hype man you are not you mic-whoring #%%#&*!, and way to ruin good music they were playing.
Thanks for the well wishes and the awesome gifts my good peoples, I'm on high hope it continues into the new year. Even if it does not i'ma will that shit
5 things I have stewing in my mind.
1. I'm pretty even keeled cat but having been on a "Emotional rollercoasters" the past month or so I have decided they are ass....arrghh, I'm getting off on that ride.
2. I got the greatest gifts from the greatest people...Mucho Love..
3. I'm hype about the new year, I cannot see myself regressing...progression and follow thru is my new personal Mantra.
4. What have I done for hip hop today?(....its not that serious)
5. Building...
Things I'm looking forward to
1.Pan's Labyrinth and 300 the movie..yes its that serious I'm mildly obsessive about these movies.
2.Sevens...can't wait to build with my connects.
3.BNTS getting bigger and stronger.
4.Hugh Masekela Jan 20Th opening act KE's own Anna Mwalagho...
5. New relationships...
6. The NFL Playoffs...ahh pure bliss
Man I gotta post more often, Currently working on three reviews, Momentus 'Siku Njema'..those of you that have heard it gotta agree the Cd opening is crazy... the ochestra like opening is fucken beautiful Andaki bastids ....'Imagine tukishi kwa mkate na maji/Wenyeji tunahave ku weka kichwa juu ya maji....'survival kwa projects za ghetto/ma rivals ni ma cops na rifles'/...uki expect niimbe nyimbo hazina maana??? . Also a review of 'Anga Banga' dope album btw, 'Dandora Burning' late but should be up and female SA emcee Nthabi lates offering 'fromt he streets to the lab'.
Extra thoughts on the albums from KE
1.One cat Tshaz produced a banger 'elimisha' on that wenyeji album, but had the absolute worst track in Anga banga '2050', did not feel the track. I guess its versatility....
2. Production game is crazy...cats have really stepped up impressed by that. props to them, Nannoma alum musyoka has some serious hotness, Chiz n' brain has his signature to a T dope bass lines, He-rum flipped that Hendrix sample..nicely on 'Boom Boom Room'(Its not what you think)
3. The skits on 'Anga Banga' are maddening, brought down the album...
4. The love track(Moyo wangu) in 'Siku Njema' is one of my fav tracks on that album.
5. The singer Gaza sometimes overdoes it...on 'Siku Njema'.
6. 'hisaa' (Siasa)off Anga Banga is one of the best tracks I heard all year.
7. I wish that Wenyeji album cover had complete producer credits...
End year list....plus new podcast coming next.

It has been a good year for the local hiphop collectives , just got word that the msa affiliates of ukoo flani have dropped their new album , though all the 2 lead off singles have been party anthems there are some other tight joints worth noting . Also agree with you on the producer credits , just a few thank you lines are not enough.
Speaking of end year lists.....well uvivu ndio mwingisiku hizi but will try to come up with one .

name of album is street hustlaz by cannibal & sharama expect the hookup by kesho jioni . On this they have procuder credits and also the cd design/layout is quite good .

Zanzibar sucks!! I went for the Hugh Masekela show lakini they oversold it and everybody who came like at 8.00 had to go for the 10.30 one !!! we still were not able to see the 10.30 show as it was still oversold!! . I have never been so pissed off ati they'll "refund my money". Maf*ckers... I drove from frigging Baltimore+!!!! It's not about the entry fee! Will you refund gas and tolls and general aggravation of driving to DC????!!!!! And cost of getting my hair did? !!! I swear I'm still mad after 2 weeks...
